Six manufacturers of consumer electronics, home appliances, and IT solutions were awarded the EURONICS Trend Award for their most innovative, promising and trendsetting products at the International Consumer Electronics Fair (IFA). During the traditional currywurst event held at the EURONICS stand yesterday (Saturday), representatives from Sony, JBL, HP, Siemens and Miele officially accepted the award. “Today, we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of our retail group – a quarter of a century of experience, which is putting us to rate which products have the potential to succeed in the consumer electronics and home appliance markets,” says Hans Carpels, President of EURONICS International. “The assessment criteria used by our panel of experts not only included general market potential and the product’s specific customer benefit, but also whether the demands of specialist retailers for marketable quality and advice are met.”

Awards presented in five categories
A panel of six international experts, members of the EURONICS International Board of Directors, presented the EURONICS Trend Award to manufacturers in five different categories. In the area of Consumer Electronics/TV, Sony was recognized, while in the Audio segment, the prize went to JBL. In the category IT, HP received the honour. For their innovative products in Home Appliances, Major Domestic Appliances, Siemens were honoured, and for Small Domestic Appliances, the award was presented to Miele.
