Like ESL One, the IEM sponsorship provides the flexibility for all 26 Euronics members to be known as the official Electronics Retail Partner in their respective market as well as promoting the ‘Member of Euronics’ brand. It also provides the opportunity to activate in-store and online and showcase a diverse and relevant product portfolio to their customers.
In addition to being part of the Intel® Grand Slam, this year’s IEM Katowice at the iconic Spodek Arena (28 February – 1 March) represents the first CS:GO Masters Championship tournament held as part of the new, hugely exciting, ESL Pro Tour. The Pro Tour will link over twenty CS:GO tournaments and leagues into one narrative, showcasing the best talent in esports and harnessing ESL’s ethos of ‘Creating a world where everybody can be somebody’.
“We are delighted to extend our partnership with ESL”, says John Olsen, MD of Euronics International. “Being the Official Electronics Retailer of the Intel Extreme Masters in Katowice builds perfectly on what we started in 2019 and helps position all our members as the leading electronics retailer in the gaming world. It also reinforces to our customers, old and young, that we want to continue to provide ‘a human touch in a digital world’ across the entire consumer journey.”
“We are delighted and proud the Euronics Group members have decided to extend their partnership with us in 2020. The Intel Extreme Masters is one of our signature majors, and this partnership once again provides ESL and the Euronics Group the opportunity to showcase our shared passion for delivering high-quality experiences to our customers and fans. It also further continues our mission to grow esports on a global scale and create a world where ‘Everybody can be somebody’.” says Bernhard Mogk, SVP Global Sales & Business Development ESL.
