Amsterdam, June 9 2025 – Recommerce Group, the European pioneer in trade-in, refurbishment and resell, and Euronics, one of Europe’s leading consumer electronics retail groups, have joined forces to scale up sustainable consumption across Europe. Since March 2025, this strategic partnership has rolled out in several countries, including Belgium, France, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Switzerland.

Through this partnership, Recommerce empowers Euronics network with a turnkey trade-in solution that allows customers to easily return their old devices in exchange for compensation — boosting their purchasing power while contributing to a more circular economy. This end-to-end program ensures a fast, seamless customer journey in-store and online channels.
In parallel, Recommerce also provides Euronics network with a fully integrated resale solution, offering a wide range of high-quality refurbished smartphones directly through its retail and e-commerce platforms. All Recommerce’s devices are certified with the “RECQ” - Quality Refurbishment delivered by DEKRA, ensuring the quality of the refurbishment process, from collection to data deletion, to repair and sale services. Each smartphone undergoes 56 quality checkpoints and comes with a two-year warranty
Thanks to this partnership, Recommerce will have the opportunity to reach Euronics Group consumers, significantly expanding its customer base. By integrating its trade-in and resale solutions with Euronics’ extensive retail network, Recommerce can offer its high-quality refurbished devices to a broader audience. This collaboration not only enhances Recommerce’s market presence but also reinforces its commitment to promoting sustainable consumption and circular economy practices across Europe.
With millions of mobile devices being discarded every year, the global e-waste crisis continues to be a pressing environmental issue. In fact, electronic waste is expected to exceed 80 million metric tons by 20301, making initiatives like this essential for reducing the tech industry’s environmental footprint.
The partnership also responds to growing consumer demand for more affordable and eco-friendly alternatives to new devices. According to Recommerce’s recent study on “the second-hand mobile market”, 55% of European consumers are now open to purchasing refurbished smartphones, and 36% are looking to trade in their old phones. This shift in mindset confirms a rising appetite for circular solutions in the tech market.
"At Euronics International, sustainability is a core part of our mission. We believe that extending the life cycle of electronics through trade-in programs is not only good for the environment, but also brings real value to our customers. That’s why we’re proud to partner with Recommerce — together, we’re making it easier than ever for consumers to return their devices responsibly and contribute to a more circular economy." – John Olsen, CEO of Euronics International

“Since 2009, Recommerce seeks to be an Enabler of Circular Economy and work with players with whom we share the same values of innovation, expertise and sustainability. Partnering with pan European major stakeholders such as Euronics is a huge testament to this ambition by allowing hundreds of brands and shops across Europe to offer more responsible alternatives to their customers.” – Augustin Becquet, CEO of Recommerce.
The collaboration between Recommerce and Euronics is set to expand further with the upcoming launch of a MacBook and PC trade-in program in Italy. By extending the offer beyond smartphones, the partnership aims to give even more consumers access to sustainable, high-value tech solutions — and to reinforce its commitment to circular innovation across Europe.
